The customer approached us based on our experience with RFID technologies, looking for an effective way to identify animals using RFID tags and to load this data directly into an application built on FileMaker.
Originally, the customer brought a reader from Gallagher, but it only worked offline and didn't support FileMaker integration. We found an alternative device from Allflex, which supports both offline batch mode and direct Bluetooth connection to any device.
We proposed extending the Gonector plug-in to allow the reader to communicate with FileMaker in real time. For example, during a veterinary examination, the user could scan an animal’s RFID tag from up to one meter away and immediately work with the data in the FileMaker app while the animal is still being examined.
Although the project wasn’t implemented due to budget constraints, the proposal is ready, and we can deliver it once a suitable client appears. The solution would significantly speed up and improve fieldwork, eliminating the need for manual data exports.
